SO! It has been approximately a million years since we posted! You guys are graciously used to our long hiatus' but this one's been a bit longer than expected, and unfortunately, it'll be a bit longer still, and you can blame me, Interpunkt!
As it so happens, I am trying to finish up school right now, because once upon a time a million years ago I was pretty close to being done but didn't finish but left school for work! For some reason, I've lost my mind as I almost finished paying off my student loans that didn't get me a degree, and I want the stupid degree because, as things stand right now, I paid a million dollars for nothing which is driving me insane. So now me, extremely full time employed Interpunkt, is also going to school and this means I will die if I try to do the comic at the same time.
Missveryvery has graciously agreed that she doesn't want me to die, and though we both think it sucks, we gotta big time comic-halt until I can be done with this nightmare that is higher education. We LOVE Minor Acts of Heroism, and we LOVE you guys because you've always been so patient and awesome with us. Comics are HARD and super time consuming, and sometimes life has to take priority (even when it sucks, I super hate school, guys), and this is one of those times. So we ask for more of your endless patience as we officially declare a friggin LONG hiatus so Interpunkt can become less dumb and get a piece of paper that says as much. I should, theoretically, finish this journey better at writing so expect to cry 1000% more once we're back because, really, all I'm ever trying to do is make everyone cry.
We're not totally internet dead, though, despite the necessary hiatus. You can still see random art on our Patreon (mostly Missveryvery but I chime in time to time), and also we've been working on writing stuff which takes significantly less time then comic work so hopefully some written stuff will be on the horizon too. So check out the below links, follow us on some stuff, and once I'm smarter and done with this terrible life decision I've made, we will hopefully come back to our super children that we super love and all of you fantastic fans.
P.S.- Missveryvery's super broken arm is mostly healed! She says thanks so much for the millions of people asking about it! Also, now she has 2 wicked scars that look like she's super hardcore!
Thanks for letting us know.
You guys are awesome and I wish you luck with all of your stuff. I actually write a web-serial by the name of 'Touch', that is quite similar to M.A.O.H, and I was very excited when I first found your comic, because it was wonderful seeing other people playing around with such interesting ideas. Thanks for sharing it with everyone.
i was surprised to see this had updated with yet another hiatus notice....however i cannot find it in me to be even a little bit upset because im in college to and i have so many ideas i either want to do as a comic or something else but i have no time because college eats up all my time.
i also commend you going back to the stress that is college to finish your degree and eagerly await your return!
@Rhythminthemind - Thanks so much for being so understanding!! And now I wanna check out your web-series! I just bookmarked it so I'll give it a read between all this friggin' math I'm suddenly having to do!
@ShadowHoundour - Isn't college the biggest, worst time sink!? Gawd it's taking every free moment from me! Good luck with your own college struggles! You can do it!!! And thanks so much for the understanding (and shared misery)!
@heliumsquid - I was originally going for a major in animation, but as I've already been in the gaming industry a decade I don't need that now hah! So I'm going for a BA in Creative Writing and English with a concentration in Fiction Writing! I'm gonna write real good when I'm done :D
@CarolinaD - Yeah! So sorry for the long delay before we explained. I was basically trying to see what I could manage before we wanted to make the decision since it was such a big decision! Thanks for holding out hope!
Yay an update! Even if it is just about your continued hiatus. I get not pushing yourselfs too much. I am working two jobs.
On the bright side, Interpunk can get more smarts and msveryvery can continue getting back into the swing of things at her own pace after injury.
Many wishes, and don't forget to take care!
I'm a horrible person
I was taught to never ask a woman's age, a man's sallary or a student's estimated graduation or dissertation date, but I love this comic, so I have to be the awful person to ask (I also spent six years in uni, so my own time reference is worrying me): How long do you think the hiatus will be?
Well, thank you for explanation, and best of luck at school. Getting a degree is always a good thing, although you never know just what it will do for you at first. I have a degree in engineering. I did work as an engineer for about 10 years, but eventually became an industrial mechanic. The base pay wasn't quite as good, but as a mechanic I was paid extra for overtime (engineers usually are not) and made out quite well. You can't really lose by getting more education. So, good luck, study hard, (and don't party too much - that doomed quite a few of my old classmates-Ha ha)
Thanks for telling us what's going on! And please, you focusing on school and is a perfectly good reason to take a break from a free comic. Your lives take precedence. Always. Look forward to your work after your hiatus, as always!
@Spud - This is actually my second go at it! I dropped out the first time because I got a job in the game industry so had no reason to get the degree! But now I'm old and tired and wish I'd gotten a degree to validate all that money I spent ;0;! So I'm finishing up! No threat of partying. I am to hermit and tired! Thanks so much for the support!!!
