That awkward moment when you realize he's just a pretty face.

Beldam (Guest), May 30th, 2012, 2:02 pm

Ahahaha, poor Serge. On a seperate note, I wonder why he said 'The Hound of Baskervilles'? Instead of 'The Hound of the Baskervilles'? Or why he's calling Mr. Hellhound the plural name to begin with, instead of Baskerville.

krissymonett, May 30th, 2012, 2:10 pm

That last panel :D
Simon isn't exactly how you thought he is, is he?

AbAbsurda, May 30th, 2012, 3:09 pm

So Simon is, like, 12, then? Your character profiles say Bradley is only 25; call it nit-picky, but that means he was 13 when Simon was born. Either Simon's mom re-married way down or, if Bradley's age is supposed to indicate hers at all, she got busy really early.
Not gonna lie, that kinda weirds me out.

Spear the Hedgehog, May 30th, 2012, 4:26 pm

That last panel just screams facepalm.
Jus' sayin'.

Lazy-lil-ninja, May 30th, 2012, 5:25 pm

he's like "...i'm surrounded by incompetence."

Vintidora (Guest), May 30th, 2012, 6:12 pm

So not at my regular computer today but love the Sherlock reference. Poor Sergio between Nilus whose from Atlantis and Simon who's life consist of pizza hoodies and crime fighting hes never gonna have someone who just get it

Silver Mouri (Guest), May 30th, 2012, 7:37 pm

@AbAbsurda The Mom doesn't have to be WAY older then him. She could of had Simon at 18, which would then make her 30 (If I did my math right). Which would only give them a 5 years age difference. Which is generally common.

Also, OMG. I love the facial expression on the last panel XD He just looks like he got slapped in the face with reality.

Zero the fox, May 30th, 2012, 9:32 pm

Okay Vegeta I have a question. How many times did the kids pet the cute hellpuppy?
Vegeta:...you know the line.
You couldnt say it just once?

Morning, May 30th, 2012, 10:11 pm

Really love this page, it's hilarious

Morichi, May 30th, 2012, 11:27 pm

Hey, at least he's cute!

MaliceJay, May 30th, 2012, 11:37 pm

AND Sergio give Simon that look. XD love it!! lol
So cute that still petting him too.~

McBob (Guest), May 31st, 2012, 1:21 am

Your calculation is off. Sixth Grade is usually about age 11, meaning that if his dad is 25, he would have had Simon at age 14, and that's totally feasible. Not very advisable, but feasible.

But have we heard for sure that Simon is actually the biological son of Everywhere? He could be adopted.

haneganai, May 31st, 2012, 3:58 am

@McBob (Guest) & @Silver Mouri (Guest) & @AbAbsurda: ...you guys DO realize Everywhere is his STEP-dad.... right? He could have married the mom... a year ago. o__O;;

lubibul, May 31st, 2012, 6:22 am

hahaha his face!! like "Are you serious."

Riverside1, May 31st, 2012, 10:34 pm

Good looks, Check. Awesome ability, check. Street saavy and street cred, check. Intelligence, smartness, book knowledge.... It just doesn't add up. Speechless.

orenjibeat, June 1st, 2012, 2:48 am

I know its been said a million times, but: last panel--dat face xD <3

On another note, Baskerviiiiilllllesss
Such a cute and well thought out name

moody_monkey, June 1st, 2012, 10:12 pm

Tehehe Sherlock reference for the win~!

great name

lovelynobody00, June 1st, 2012, 10:56 pm

giggling at sherlock reference <3

keslin (Guest), June 2nd, 2012, 9:18 am

man, i learned about the Hound of the Baskervilles when I was 6 by watching Chip and Dale's Rescue Rangers and Wishbone the Dog! lol

MaddieRawr354, June 2nd, 2012, 9:52 pm

I feel like I should be ashamed because I love books yet... I didn't know anything about Baskervilles or who it was...

Sergio has this look on his face like he expected something different from his hero. He should know by now Simon doesn't READ~ Take it from his reaction to Sergio's invitation to the library.

Silver Mouri (Guest), June 2nd, 2012, 10:41 pm

@haneganai I realize that Everywhere is his Step-Dad. I was more trying to point out what the Mothers age was when AbAsurda made the comment she could of got busy way early.

I don't see a 5 years age difference as way down in terms of relationship but maybe that's because to me it's normal.

Malale (Guest), June 3rd, 2012, 9:06 am

Serge is judging you, Simon

Keys2tkingdom, June 5th, 2012, 1:27 am

Hey I didn't know until 8th grade!
Uh, wow Serg, way to hold your hero to your standards. Not everyone has access to a huge library (probably chock-full of first editions!) nor an avid bookworm! Heck, I didn't start voluntarily laying into 19th and early 20th century literature until 10th grade! But I bet Serg can overlook a few character quirks in order to be with his crush/idol -character development ho! ;)

Querque11 (Guest), June 5th, 2012, 2:08 pm

CAN'T get enough of that incredulous look! Haha! So great!

Guest, June 6th, 2012, 3:49 am

I- I understood the sherlock holmes reference almost instantly. does this make me a nerd?

Keys2tkingdom, June 6th, 2012, 12:54 pm

No not a nerd...
You're just like all of the Americans who have had middle school required summer reading...

Scaw-DragonSlayer, June 7th, 2012, 10:46 pm

Is 6th grade usual for someone his age? I don't get how all that "grade" thing works (or the American school system in general).

Keys2tkingdom, June 8th, 2012, 5:33 pm

@Scaw-DragonSlayer Yes, it quite normal for a kid of Simon's age to be in 6th grade - the age of an American 6th grader (who hasn't skipped or repeated any years) is between 11-13. Where I live, public schools have required reading lists ("to increase vocabulary, comprehension, and analytical skills"). 'The Hound of the Baskervilles' is a common title on the lists for the 6th through 9th grades. So if Simon's school has a required reading list, Simon either hasn't read 'The Hound of the Baskervilles' yet, or he didn't retain a word of it.

Scaw-DragonSlayer, June 8th, 2012, 7:51 pm

That makes sense now, thanks.

youji (Guest), June 14th, 2012, 12:15 pm

I am seconding the question of why it's "Baskervilles" and not just "Baskerville".

I say this as someone who has been naming her Dragon Age mabari hounds "Baskerville" ever since the first game came out ^_^*

...also it's not the dog's name in the book either, lol

Winterclipse, June 15th, 2012, 10:35 pm

*casually screams because Sherlock reference*

I've been following this comic for quite some time, I must say this made my already awesome day even greater <3

Your art is lovely and your story telling is exquisite, by the way! :D

Me (Guest), February 18th, 2014, 7:03 pm

-Eye squint- Seemed like 2nd to me.

Rikana (Guest), April 25th, 2015, 2:20 am

Thanks Sergio.. Make me feel behind. I'm in 10th grade and I still haven't heard mention of Sherlock Holmes in the curriculum.
